In an isolated rat heart model, paired electrical stimulation can restore mechanical contractions during low-calcium induced electro-mechanical dissociation.
During electro-mechanical dissociation in isolated rat hearts caused by low calcium perfusion, paired stimulation restored the contractions. The main factor determining the size of these contractions is the duration of the interval between the two stimuli forming a pair.
