Examines geometric thinking in kindergarten children, suggesting targeted training for educators.
The current research aims to identify the relationship of geometric thinking to some variables among kindergarten children. To achieve the research objectives, the researcher built a geometric thinking test consisting of (20) items distributed across two levels. After verifying the validity and reliability of the test, The value of the reliability coefficient was (0.81).the test was applied to the research sample of (400) male and female kindergarten children in the city of Mosul. The researcher used the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) to statistically analyze the data. The research concluded in its results that kindergarten children (preparatory level) have a good level of geometric thinking, and there are no differences among children on the geometric thinking test according to the gender variable (male-female) and according to the child's position in the family variable (first-middle-last) In light of these results, the researcher recommends some recommendations, including conducting training courses for kindergarten teachers to help them enhance geometric thinking skills in kindergarten children in a better way. The researcher also suggests some proposals, including the effect of an educational program on developing geometric thinking in kindergarten children.
