Retrospective analysis shows improved sperm quality in subfertile men after 90 days of Anduixx supplementation, suggesting potential benefits.
Introduction Male fertility is an increasing concern, with men undergoing assisted reproductive treatments frequently seeking ways to participate in the treatment and to enhance their semen quality. Recent data presented at the 2024 Austrian IVF conference highlighted promising results from the supplement Anduixx (J. Stocker et al). However further validation is needed. Objective Our andrological sexual medicine centers in conbination with our fertility clinic collaborators, have used this supplement clinically over recent years, and here we present a retrospective analysis of our findings. Methods The retrospective analysis included all 10 subfertile men who took a daily dose of Anduixx, a spermidine-rich chlorella supplement with antioxidants, over 90 days at our centers. Inclusion criteria required signed consent, subfertile sperm analysis, and an age above 18. The patients took one daily dose of the product dissolved in 300 mL of water for 3 months. A control semen analysis was performed after the subjects took Anduixx for 3 months. The primary endpoints were defined as the progressive Total Motile Sperm Count (TMSC) and normal morphology. The limitations of this analysis are, it is retrospective, the spermiograms were done at different laboratories and the small sample size. For analysis SPSS v. 29 was used. Results: All 10 male subjects were diagnosed as subfertile at Day 0 according to WHO 2021 criteria: - 2 men with oligozoospermia - 1 men with teratozoospermia - 2 men with oligo-asthenozoospermia, - 1 men with oligo-teratozoospermia - 4 men with oligo-astheno-teratozoospermia Following the 90-day treatment, all 10 participants were diagnosed as normozoospermic. Total Motile Sperm Count improved from 12.6 mio to 38.2 mio (p≤0.001)and normal morphology improved from 4% to 12% (p≤0.005). The p-values are highly significant even given the small sample size. These results, even with the limitations of the methodology, show that the results are comparable to the results found by J. Stocker et al: Results Results: All 10 male subjects were diagnosed as subfertile at Day 0 according to WHO 2021 criteria: - 2 men with oligozoospermia - 1 men with teratozoospermia - 2 men with oligo-asthenozoospermia, - 1 men with oligo-teratozoospermia - 4 men with oligo-astheno-teratozoospermia Following the 90-day treatment, all 10 participants were diagnosed as normozoospermic. Stocker et al: Conclusions This retrospective analysis aligns with the findings of J. Stocker et al., supporting Anduixx as a promising treatment to enhance male fertility. Each participant showed improved semen quality and achieved normozoopermia according to WHO standards after 90 days. To further validate these results studies with larger cohorts are recommended.
