Novel passive airflow control solution adheres to 2026 F1 regulations, improving vehicle performance without active systems.
In response to the mandatory constraints of the 2026 Formula 1 Technical Regulations, including the full prohibition of active aerodynamic control systems and the full optical smoothness requirement for vehicle body and aerodynamic surfaces, this paper independently develops a novel fully passive and entirely embedded pressure gradient flow guidance system. Based on the natural pressure difference flow mechanism generated during vehicle operation, the system requires no external energy input and no active mechanical control components. By reconstructing the internal cavity flow field structure of the vehicle body, it improves boundary layer adhesion stability, optimizes global flow field quality, and enhances multi-condition operational reliability. This paper only discloses the system design philosophy, macroscopic operating mechanism and theoretical compliance framework, without revealing any detailed engineering structures or quantitative parameters. Verified by one-to-one benchmarking against regulatory provisions and legislative intent, the proposed system involves no active aerodynamic intervention, no exposed aerodynamic modification, and no artificially induced functional vortices, fully complying with the 2026 F1 Technical Regulations as an original passive airflow control solution. This study completes the public pioneering confirmation of core technical concepts and provides a new theoretical pathway for passive aerodynamic optimization under the updated regulations.
