Analyzes stress overestimation in geophysics, suggesting new continuous modeling approaches.
This paper analyzes the structural impact of finite spatial grid partitioning on numerical calculations in subsurface geophysics and validates the mathematical consistency of the "3D Continuous Field Model." Utilizing open time-series data from the NIED Hi-net network (NIED-HI-NET-GEOLOGY-RAW), the study demonstrates that conventional finite difference grid models overestimate spatial stress by 4.597502 times due to cumulative boundary discretization noise. In contrast, the continuous field approach—employing 3D linear interpolation and a 3x3x3 convolution matrix with 27 fixed degrees of freedom—successfully neutralizes fault gradient stress, achieving a true strain energy release efficiency of 85.330829% alongside strict deterministic computational stability.
