Scientific dating via tree-ring analysis reveals potential mid-fourteenth century construction of timbers.
Scientific dating of historic timbers Tree-ring analysis was undertaken on timbers of the main and rear range of this building resulting in the dating of a purlin in the main range and two door jambs in the rear range to the mid-fourteenth century. The limited number of dated timbers and the lack of secure dating of the remaining timbers leaves the date of construction of this building open to question.
