Alder Archaeology undertook an archaeological watching brief on the site of the construction of a vehicular access road. Nothing of archaeological significance was found during the course of the watching brief. It was noted that the topsoil and subsoil on the slope down to the road was thinner at between 20cm to 40cm compared to the 50cm found on other excavations on the more level ground surface around Taymouth Castle.
