Genome assembly provides insights into Ribes uva-crispa genetics, highlighting eukaryotic diversity in Britain and Ireland.
<ns5:p> We present a genome assembly of <ns5:italic>Ribes uva-crispa</ns5:italic> (Gooseberry; Streptophyta; Magnoliopsida; Saxifragales; Grossulariaceae). The assembly consists of two haplotypes with total lengths of 812.65 megabases and 799.91 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (91.68%) is scaffolded into 8 chromosomal pseudomolecules. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial sequence has a length of 444.37 kilobases and the plastid genome assembly has a length of 157.66 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland. </ns5:p>
