Measurement and evaluation in Kinesiology have evolved to address the demands of modern data environments and specialized applications. The rise of big data, artificial intelligence, and advanced analytics has enhanced the ability to manage diverse data types and apply innovative methodologies. Within this context, sport analytics has emerged as a dynamic applied branch of M&E, particularly relevant to sport performance and sport business. This article introduces sport analytics as an integrative framework, grounded in measurement and evaluation principles, that incorporates data management, analytic modeling, and information systems to support decision-making in sport-related contexts. Recognizing other applied analytics frameworks, such as those in physical education or physical activity, helps reflect the broader scope of Kinesiology. By integrating modern analytics approaches, measurement and evaluation continue to play a central role in Kinesiology.
