The electrical conductivity of a highly turbulent plasma is measured in the electron density range 10¹⁰-10¹³ cm^-3, using hydrogen, argon, and xenon. When the applied electric field is large ({} 100 V cm^-1), it is found that the conductivity may be described by the formula σ≈1/2(M/m)1/3ωₚₑ, which was first suggested by Buneman.
