Reattributes Ca2+-free outward current to L-type channel K+ efflux in guinea pig myocytes; leaves open whether A-type K+ masking occurs in other species or humans.
The transient outward current observed upon removal of extracellular Ca(2+) in guinea pig ventricular myocytes is due to K(+) efflux through L-type Ca(2+) channels, not a distinct A-type K(+) current.
