Estimated use increased from 40,000 canoe floater days in 1968 to 243,000 in 1977; over 500,000 canoe floater days are projected for 1985 (Marnell et al. 1978). The objective of this study was to determine the behavior of green-backed herons in relation to the level of recreationist activity on the ONSR.
