The purpose of this study is to investigate the purchasing patterns and its characteristics of national pension, retirement Pension and private pension for the income security in the old age of the fifties who aren't retired. For this purpose, I implement the cluster analysis, cross-tabs and ANOVA, using the old age security panel survey data accomplished by Korean National Pension Service. I finds out the 4 types of purchasing pattern of several pensions, that is 'no pension' type(37.5%), 'only national pension' type(36%), 'national pension+retirement pension' type(19.1%), 'three legs pensions' type(7.5%). The socio-economic characteristics of 'no pension' type are female, relatively older, low income, jobs in sales and service sector, rural residents. The financial characteristics of 'no pension' type are lowest level of real estate and financial asset, highest level of debts, lowest level of minimum level of expenditure amount needed in old age.
