Objective To investigate the clinical effects of laparoscopic cryptorchidopexy in treatment of high cryptorchidism. Methods A total of 60 children with high cryptorchidism in the Department of Pediatric Surgery in the People’s Hospital of Meizhou from January 2016 to December 2017 were selected and divided into control group and research group by random number table method, with 30 cases in each group. Children in control group were given traditional open cryptorchidopexy, while children in research group were treated by laparoscopic cryptorchidopexy. The surgical indexes of two groups were compared. The children were followed up for 3 to 9 months after discharge, and the development of testis in two groups were compared. Results Compared with control group, the operation time, postoperative leaving bed time, incision pain time, hospital stays in research group were shorter, however, the intraoperative bleeding volume in research group was less, the excellent rate of testis development in research group was higher (P<0.05). Conclusions Laparoscopic cryptorchidopexy in treatment of high cryptorchidism is effective, which can shorten operation time, reduce injury, promote recovery, so it is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
