In males, hypertension was significantly associated with age (ORs 5.79 to 32.28 across age 40+ to 70+), family history of hypertension (OR 7.12), alcohol drinking (OR 2.03), overweight status (OR 4.69), and hyperlipidemia (OR 3.49), whereas prehypertension was associated with age 70–84 (OR 3.65) and hyperlipidemia (OR 1.80).
In females, hypertension was significantly associated with age (ORs 8.58 to 63.67 across age 40+ to 70+), family history (OR 5.65), overweight status (OR 3.16), and elevated C-reactive protein (≥10.356 mg/L), while prehypertension was associated with age (ORs 1.72 to 6.67) and overweight status (OR 1.68).
