Why the study?
While T-tubule architecture and function are well described in animal models, limited morpho-functional data exist on T-tubules in human myocardium and during the non-failing hypertrophic stage of HCM.
This review provides insights into the ultrastructural remodeling of T-tubules in human hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and its implications for disease progression and excitation-contraction coupling.

Limited human T-tubule data in HCM leaves open their role in excitation-contraction uncoupling; targeted morpho-functional studies needed.
