Norepinephrine induces LV-specific hypertrophy despite stronger RV hemodynamics in rats, fully blocked by carvedilol; leaves open differential remodeling mechanisms in human heart failure.
Continuous norepinephrine infusion in rats produces more pronounced hemodynamic responses in the right ventricle but induces hypertrophy exclusively in the left ventricle, effects that are prevented by carvedilol.
