The present paper deals with the study of flow and heat transfer on MHD boundary layer flow over a stretching sheet through a porous medium subjected to a variable magnetic field in the presence of uniform heat source. The nonlinear partial differential equations are reduced into ordinary differential equations by employing similarity variables and then the transformed equations are solved by employing Runge-Kutta fourth order method along associated with shooting technique. Results for velocity and temperature profiles are studied through graphs for selected values of the governing parameters. Numerical computation for rate of shear stress (i.e., skin friction) and heat transfer (i.e., Nusselt number) are also calculated and presented through tables and discussed in detail. The important findings in the present discussion are Lorentz force retards the velocity profile at all points in the velocity boundary layer and the temperature profile enhances due to increase in heat source parameter in the thermal boundary layer.
