In vitro study reveals that a newly isolated lignan from Lactuca indica suppresses nitric oxide production in macrophage cells, indicating potential anti-inflammatory properties.
Three undescribed compounds (named indicalatucas A-C), including two lignans (1 and 2) and an abscisic alcohol glycoside (3), together with six known neolignans (4–9), were extracted from the leaves of Lactuca indica L. Their structures were elucidated using HRESIMS, ECD, and NMR spectroscopy. Among them, compound 1 significaltly inhibited NO production in LPS-activated RAW 264.7 cells (IC50: 15.8 µM).
