Phase-dependent cardiac sympathetic responses in this cat model; leaves open translation to human cardiorespiratory disease or clinical chemoreflex modulation.
In an animal model, the respiratory modulation of chemoreceptor-induced sympathetic responses was less prominent than the modulation of spontaneous activity, suggesting phase dependence is driven by spontaneous expiratory diminution of sympathetic activity.
