Why the study?
Aortic arch thrombosis combined with severe mitral regurgitation is rare, especially in the absence of underlying coagulopathies.
Intraaortic thrombosis can occur in patients with severe mitral regurgitation even without underlying blood coagulation abnormalities, and can be successfully treated with a combined surgical approach including fenestrated frozen elephant trunk.
Answers are grounded in this paper and cite their sources.
