Why the study?
Primary cardiac intimal sarcoma is an extremely rare cardiac tumor subtype that is often misdiagnosed due to non-specific clinical and radiological features.
Highlights the diagnostic challenges and multimodality imaging features of primary cardiac intimal sarcoma, a rare tumor often misdiagnosed as atrial myxoma.
Diagnostic overlap with myxoma warrants multimodality imaging caution; case report leaves open standardized diagnostic criteria.
Primary cardiac intimal sarcoma, an extremely rare cardiac tumor subtype, is often mis-diagnosed owing to its rarity and non-specific clinical and radiological features. We report a case of cardiac intimal sarcoma mimicking atrial myxoma in which the clinical presentation and multimodality imaging are described in detail, and diagnostic challenges are highlighted.
