The worldwide economic activity was disrupted when the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, forcing many enterprises to go into lockdown and begin working remotely over the internet. Despite the massive effect of COVID-19 on governments and businesses, institutions were able to remain open thanks to the choice to move to online programmes, which was first tough but eventually paid off handsomely. It is necessary to investigate what factors impact students' grades at Engineering College, Chennai now that a pandemic seems to be underway. So that educational institutions all around the globe may improve the quality of education they provide their students, this research aims to identify the factors that make online students succeed academically. In light of the present COVID-19 pandemic, the primary goal of this study is to provide concrete suggestions for how students might improve their academic performance. The results of the interviews and the surveys proved how important the parts of the conceptual framework were. Factors such as students' workload, class content, quantity of information to process, and the dependability of the online study's IT infrastructure all had an impact on students' success. The facilitators' reactions to online education were varied, ranging from positive to negative. Our recommendations are based on the findings and are suitable for future unknown circumstances.
