Does not change clinical practice; leaves open baroreceptor resetting as a hypertension mechanism or target in humans.
In a rabbit model, chronic hypertension impairs the ability of baroreceptors to rapidly reset to increased pressure, but acute normalization of blood pressure can restore normal baroreceptor threshold and nerve activity.
