Induction of labour with intravenous infusion of 0.5-2.0μg!minute prostaglandin E2 was. attempted in 300 women and was successful in 298. The duration of infusion varied between 90 minutes and 18 hours. The majority of the patients however, required an infusion of less than 12 hours duration and delivered within 18 hours.
