The major portion of this book consists of seven articles originally published in theJournal of the Mount Sinai Hospital, New Yorkbetween 1959 and 1962. These cover the anemias, hemophilia, leukemia and myelosclerosis, osteopetrosis, myeloma, reticuloendothelioses, and malignant lymphoma. An additional section discussing latest information on sickle cell disease and reticuloendothelioses soundly resolves differing impressions and attitudes. A brief discussion of metastatic carcinoma and Paget's disease has been added for sake of completeness in differential analysis of radiographs. The result is a very valuable and handy volume. For each condition discussed the author demonstrates a rare combination of keen observation, concise description, and painstaking correlation of clinical, laboratory, and radiographic information. Radiographic patterns are stressed which may precede other more specifically diagnostic or symtomatic criteria occurring at a later stage in life.
