Effect of thrombin fragment (TP508) on myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury in hypercholesterolemic pigs

21 hypercholesterolemic male Yucatan pigs undergoing 60 min of mid-left anterior descending coronary artery occlusion followed by 120 min of reperfusion.

TP508 (thrombin fragment) in two doses: low dose (n=7, 0.5 mg/kg bolus 50 min into ischemia and 1.25 mg/kg/h infusion during reperfusion) or high dose (n=7, double the low dose).

Placebo (n=7).
