Blood lipid parameters (LDL, HDL, triglycerides, ApoB, ApoA-I, lipoprotein a, ApoB:ApoA-I ratio)

Presence of carotid plaque evaluated by B-mode ultrasoundsurrogate

ApoB and ApoA-I may be stronger predictors of subclinical atherosclerosis than traditional lipid parameters like LDL.
