Intervention

Pindolol once daily (Study 1: mean 13 mg, range 10 mg to 20 mg; Study 2: started at 5 mg and increased up to a maximum of 20 mg as necessary).

A once-daily regimen of pindolol appears effective for maintaining blood pressure control in hypertensive patients, both as initial therapy and when switching from multiple daily doses of other beta-blockers.
