Numerical simulation reveals thermal and flow dynamics of Fe3O4-Casson nanofluids over stretching surfaces, indicating tunable heat transfer through magnetic fields and suction.
The nanofluid is a modern class of fluid that has a wide range of applications, due to their enhanced heat and mass transferring properties. Some of the key applications comprise an improvement in cooling in the vehicles radiators and electronics, increasing efficiency in solar energy systems and nuclear reactors, and use in bio-medical fields for drug delivery as well as cancer therapy. In this regard, there is particularly studied laminar, steady, two dimensional (2D), MHD Fe3O4-Casson base nanofluid flow and the heat transference phenomena over an exponential vertical shrinking and stretching surfaces in porous medium with mixed convection, slip and radiation parameters. The equations of the specified problem are developed in view of the Tiwari and Das Model which are later changed to ODEs (ordinary differential equations) from the Partial forms applying exponential form of the transformation. Then, the Maple software is used to solve these equations numerically through shooting method. Furthermore, the influence of nanoparticles volume fraction and itemized parameters i.e., Casson, magnetic, mixed convection, suction, slip, and radiation, parameters on temperature and the velocity profiles as well as variations in Nusselt number and skin fraction are determined and presented graphically. To ensure the validations of outcomes, the obtained outcomes are matched to previously acquired results present in literature, which showed a good resemblance between two results. Moreover, the key outcomes of this investigation show that any increment in rate of suction rises skin friction coefficient if surface shrinks and decreases if the surface is stretched, while Nusselt number rises for stretching/shrinking surface throughout the flow. Moreover, the temperature profile increases by increasing thermal radiation. While, increasing Prandtl, suction and Casson parameters decrease the temperature for both case of surface during flow. Additionally, any increment in suction, magnetic, Casson and velocity slip parameters decreases the velocity profile during flow of the Fe3O4-Casson base nanofluid on the exponential shrinking/stretching surface.
