Experimental study demonstrates flexible multi-profile wireless power transfer in electric bicycles, indicating enhanced battery compatibility and simplified charging control.
In order to extend the service life of lithium batteries, the charging process is usually divided into constant current (CC) charging and constant voltage (CV) charging. This paper proposes a flexible wireless power transfer (WPT) system incorporating reconfigurable transmitter and self‐switching receiver, which not only realizes two CV charging characteristics by reconstructing the transmitter but also outputs different CC charging characteristics by flexibly configuring the compensation components in the receiver. The proposed system initially adopts the S‐S‐LCC structure for CC charging and then subsequently adopts the S‐S‐S structure for CV charging, including automatically realizing the CC‐to‐CV transition process. It can provide adapted charging currents and voltages according to different EB specifications. Therefore, the proposed system is easy to control and has good compatibility. A confirmatory experimental prototype with 3 A/65 V/78 V charging configuration is fabricated to validate the rationality and feasibility of the proposed WPT system.
