Ischemic LV relaxation resists preload augmentation; leaves open whether targeted therapies can restore diastolic function in clinical ischemia.
This preclinical study demonstrates that impaired ventricular relaxation during ischemia is not improved by increased preload, and that reperfusion further prolongs relaxation, potentially deteriorating ventricular filling.
