Single BP screening may overestimate prevalence; leaves open optimal thresholds for drug therapy in mild cases.
Current definitions of hypertension may lead to overestimation of prevalence and overly aggressive drug therapy in patients with mild hypertension, who may be better managed with non-drug therapies unless diastolic blood pressure remains above 100 mm Hg.
