A dislodged ICD lead caused inappropriate shocks through simultaneous sensing of atrial and ventricular signals, despite normal interrogation parameters.
Case Report (n=1)
A dislodged ICD lead can cause inappropriate shocks via simultaneous atrial and ventricular sensing, presenting with short-long R-R sequences even when interrogation parameters appear normal.
Dislodged ICD leads may cause inappropriate shocks via dual sensing despite stable parameters; leaves open systematic lead monitoring protocols.
Inappropriate shocks from an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) can cause potentially dangerous ventricular arrhythmias and impaired quality of life. We describe a case in which a dislodged lead caused inappropriate ICD shocks through simultaneous sensing of atrial and ventricular signals. Interestingly, repeated shortlong R-R sequences were recorded, but ICD interrogation parameters were usually unchanged.

Kim et al. (2018) conducted a case report in Inappropriate ICD shocks (n=1). Dislodged ICD lead was evaluated on Inappropriate ICD shocks. A dislodged ICD lead caused inappropriate shocks through simultaneous sensing of atrial and ventricular signals, despite normal interrogation parameters.
