A study of the relation between weight and fat production of Register of Merit Jersey cows has already been reported (1, 2). It was shown that within the weight range included there was an increase of 104 pounds in fat production per year for an increase of 100 pounds of body weight. However, when the age was made constant, there was an increase of only 20 pounds of fat for each 100 pounds of body weight. From this it was concluded that an increase of body weight contributes about 20 per cent to the total increased fat yield with age while the other 80 per cent of increased fat yield with age was due to other factors accompanying increased maturity.
