Right minithoracotomy approach with port access was successfully performed for redo aortic valve replacement in an 81-year-old man with aortic stenosis after CABG, resulting in improved ejection fraction to 75% and a mean pressure gradient of 8 mmHg.

Right minithoracotomy with port access is a feasible and effective minimally invasive option for redo aortic valve replacement in patients with prior CABG.
Supports minithoracotomy feasibility for redo AVR post-CABG; hypothesis-generating and should not yet change practice.

Tokuda et al. (2012) conducted a case report in Aortic valve stenosis after CABG (n=1). Right minithoracotomy approach with port access for aortic valve replacement was evaluated on Postoperative recovery and echocardiographic parameters. Right minithoracotomy approach with port access was successfully performed for redo aortic valve replacement in an 81-year-old man with aortic stenosis after CABG, resulting in improved ejection fraction to 75% and a mean pressure gradient of 8 mmHg.
