May inform management of rare LVOT-LA fistulas in endocarditis; leaves open the role of conservative versus surgical repair.
Case Report (n=1)
Highlights the surgical and conservative management of a complex case of enterococcal endocarditis complicated by an LVOT to LA fistula.
Sicinschi et al. (2025) conducted a case report in Enterococcal endocarditis with left ventricular outflow tract to left atrium fistula (n=1). Surgical replacement of the aortic valve, repair of the mitral aortic fibrosa, repair of the aortic pseudoaneurysm, and conservative treatment of the persistent mitral valve fistula was evaluated. A patient with enterococcal endocarditis complicated by a left ventricular outflow tract to left atrium fistula was managed with aortic valve replacement and conservative fistula treatment.
