Supports feasibility of MitraClip XTR for secondary TR annular reduction; hypothesis-generating and requires prospective validation.
Andreas et al. (2019) conducted a case report in Severe secondary tricuspid regurgitation (n=1). MitraClip XTR was evaluated on Tricuspid annular diameter, effective regurgitant orifice area, and tricuspid perimeter. Transcatheter placement of a MitraClip XTR device in a 57-year-old woman with severe secondary tricuspid regurgitation reduced the tricuspid annular diameter from 41-43 mm to 27-31 mm.
