This case highlights the diagnostic and therapeutic management challenges of pannus-related prosthetic valve dysfunction presenting as angina.
Moldovan et al. (2015) conducted a case report in Pannus-related prosthetic valve dysfunction (n=1). Surgical removal of pannus was evaluated on Symptom resolution and improvement of transprosthetic gradients. Surgical removal of a subvalvular pannus mass in a 54-year-old man with a mechanical aortic prosthesis led to favorable postoperative evolution with resolution of angina symptoms and improved transprosthetic gradients.
