Raises possibility of greater arrhythmogenicity with retrograde ischemia in models; leaves open relevance to human coronary syndromes.
Absolute Event Rate: 79% vs 41%

Nagamoto et al. (1991) studied Acute myocardial ischemia (n=60). Retrograde blood flow technique vs. Left anterior descending coronary artery occlusion was evaluated on Incidence of ventricular tachycardia (p=<0.01). Inducing ischemia via retrograde blood flow in dogs resulted in a significantly higher incidence of ventricular tachycardia compared to LAD occlusion (79% vs 41%, p<0.01).
