Relations are derived between the heat of formation of a gas hydrate, its composition and the depression of the three‐phase equilibrium temperature upon addition of a “third component”, such as an alcohol. Although none of these equations is fully exact they are in reasonable agreement with experimental data. The treatment is limited to constant pressures.
