The study examines the emotional component of occupational well-being in the thesaurus of artists. A theoretical and methodological review of the literature on this problem is presented, in particular, the idea of the systemic organization of emotive vocabulary is presented, and a number of studies aimed at studying the professional well-being of artists are analysed. The results of the empirical study are presented. The aim of the study - to identify the features of the emotional component of the image of professional well-being in the perceptions of artists. L. G. Babenko's thesaurus of emotive vocabulary was used for profiling. The study involved 120 artists. Data collection was carried out by the of restricted associations method. The respondents' task: to give nine associations in the form of basic parts of speech (three verbs, nouns, adjectives each) to the word combination «occupational well-being». As a result, the frequency of these associations by categories of emotive vocabulary was revealed and a rating of these categories was formed. The most frequent in terms of the number of associations used are the categories of emotive vocabulary: «approval», «respect» and «attraction». These emotive categories characterise the emotional component of the image of professional well-being in the thesaurus of artists. The analysis of the denotative-ideographic groups taking into account functional-semantic categories shows that these categories are represented relatively evenly in the artists' associations. The categories of emotional attitude, external expression of emotions and emotional characterisation predominate. The least widespread is the category of emotional quality. The application of the linguistic approach helps to identify significant constructs for choosing a strategy for coping with difficulties in the professional activities of artists. The obtained results can be used by psychologists and teachers of secondary special and higher educational institutions to develop psychocorrective and psychoprophylactic programmes aimed at emotional regulation and support of the optimal level of artists' occupational well-being.
