Clinical follow-up reveals early resolution and subsequent recurrence of tachycardia in pediatric Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, highlighting the need for long-term monitoring.
Cohort (n=140)
Perry et al. (1990) conducted a cohort in Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome (n=140). Age at onset of supraventricular tachycardia was evaluated on Clinical course of tachycardia (disappearance, persistence, and recurrence). In children with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, supraventricular tachycardia beginning in infancy disappeared in 93% but reappeared in 31%, whereas tachycardia onset after age 5 persisted in 78%.
