A clinical risk model predicts MACCE six years after elective PCI with an AUC of ~0.85.
Why the study?
Long-term outcomes and predictors of adverse cardiovascular events after elective PCI were not well characterized, and a risk model was needed.
Cohort (n=151)
A novel risk stratification model using simple clinical characteristics can effectively identify patients at high residual risk for long-term adverse cardiovascular events after elective PCI.

May support post-PCI MACCE risk stratification; prospective validation required before clinical use.
Вершинина et al. (2018) conducted a cohort in Elective percutaneous coronary intervention (n=151). Clinical risk factors and risk stratification model was evaluated on Major adverse cardiovascular event (MACCE), including death from cardiovascular causes, acute coronary syndrome, acute cerebrovascular accident. A risk stratification model incorporating family history, statin use, glucose, and CIN risk predicted MACCE 6 years after elective PCI with an AUC of 0.852 (95% CI 0.749-0.956).
