High-resolution surface ECG mapping correctly localizes post-PCI repolarization changes in ~88% of patients.
Why the study?
A noninvasive method and suitable mapping system for assessing local myocardium repolarization changes were needed to identify lesions after myocardial infarction.
Does high-resolution surface ECG mapping accurately identify local myocardium repolarization changes in patients after myocardial infarction?
Observational (n=12)
Does high-resolution surface ECG mapping accurately identify local myocardium repolarization changes in patients after myocardial infarction?
High-resolution surface ECG mapping using a 128-channel system can noninvasively identify local repolarization changes and estimate lesion positions in post-MI patients.

May support noninvasive post-PCI repolarization mapping; hypothesis-generating and requires prospective validation before clinical use.
Tyšler et al. (2007) conducted an observational in Myocardial infarction (n=12). High-resolution surface ECG mapping was evaluated on Localization of the equivalent dipole near the treated vessel. High-resolution surface ECG mapping using an equivalent dipole model correctly localized the region of altered repolarization near the treated vessel in 7 of 8 analyzed patients after successful percutaneous coronary intervention.
