Doxorubicin preserves G-protein receptor activity despite worsening calcium overload and lipid peroxidation.
Why the study?
The activity of receptors coupled to guanine nucleotide binding regulatory proteins in doxorubicin induced cardiomyopathy was not well characterized.
Does doxorubicin-induced cardiomyopathy alter the activity of receptors coupled to G proteins in Sprague-Dawley rats?
Does doxorubicin-induced cardiomyopathy alter the activity of receptors coupled to G proteins in Sprague-Dawley rats?
In a rat model of doxorubicin-induced cardiomyopathy, the activity of G protein-coupled receptors remains unimpaired despite increased calcium influx and lipid peroxidation.

Fu et al. (1991) studied Doxorubicin induced cardiomyopathy. Doxorubicin vs. Corresponding controls was evaluated on Activity of receptors coupled to guanine nucleotide binding regulatory proteins (G proteins). In a rat model of doxorubicin-induced cardiomyopathy, the activity of receptors coupled to G proteins remained normal despite increased calcium influx and lipid peroxidation.
