Atriopeptins increase renal blood flow up to ~27% via selective renal vasodilation.
Why the study?

May guide natriuretic peptide development for renal perfusion; extends canine physiology but leaves human translation open.
Hintze et al. (1985) studied this question. Atriopeptins II and III vs. Atriopeptin I and Nitroglycerin was evaluated on Renal blood flow. In conscious dogs, intravenous atriopeptins II and III (5 µg/kg) increased renal blood flow by 27% and 18%, respectively, acting as potent selective renal vasodilators without systemic effects.
