The development of digital technology has shifted transactions from cash to non-cash, including QRIS, issued by Bank Indonesia since 2020, making it easier for MSMEs to conduct business easily and securely, especially via Islamic banks such as BSI Mobile. In Pangkalpinang City, with 18,978 MSMEs in 2024-2025, many are still hesitant to use Islamic banks' QRIS due to low socialization and unstable infrastructure. This study analyzes the obstacles and decisions of UMKM in implementing this service for non-cash transactions. This differs from previous research that focused on the impact on income. This research employed descriptive qualitative methods, with 10 UMKM, both using and not using QRIS from Islamic banks, selected through purposive sampling. Primary data was collected through semi-structured interviews, observation, and documentation. Secondary data was obtained from journals, books, regulations, and relevant documents. Data validity was tested through credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. Data analysis employed the Miles and Huberman model, which consisted of three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study provide an in-depth understanding of the MSME decision-making process in adopting QRIS from Islamic banks as a non-cash payment method. The results show that UMKM in Pangkalpinang experience obstacles with QRIS from Islamic banks due to delays in disbursement of funds, limited branch/ATM networks, and minimal publicity, in contrast to QRIS from BRI/BCA. The decision to use QRIS from Islamic banks is influenced by convenience, low costs, and promotions, rather than low customer interest (particularly in Taman Dealova).
