Biventricular microaxial flow support evaluated in a porcine model of ventricular arrhythmias without outcome data.
Evaluates dual microaxial ventricular assist catheters in a porcine chronic infarct model, highlighting advanced hemodynamic support for intractable arrhythmias.
Intractable ventricular arrhythmias (VA) can quickly lead to death. Traditional methods such as antiarrhythmic drugs, sedation, and stellate ganglion blockade might temporize until catheter ablation can be performed. Use of a high output (5.5 l/min) left microaxial ventricular assist catheter (VAC) has been used to support patients with intractable VA before, during, and after ablation. However, some VA might require more support.

Jacobson et al. (2026) studied Intractable ventricular arrhythmias (porcine model). Concomitant left and right microaxial ventricular assist catheters was evaluated. The abstract only provides background information on the use of left and right microaxial ventricular assist catheters in a porcine model of ventricular arrhythmias, without reporting any study results.
