The article examines the technological shift taking place in the processes of developing and making managerial decisions, which is due to the widespread introduction of Big Data technologies and advanced data analytics into corporate governance practice. This shift is not just evolutionary, but revolutionary in nature, as it changes the very management paradigm. Modern managers are able to use large amounts of structured and unstructured data to make informed and timely decisions, which dramatically improves the quality of strategic and operational management. Based on the systematization of modern scientific literature, which includes both fundamental theoretical works of domestic and foreign scientists, as well as empirical research, as well as on the basis of an analysis of practical cases of leading Russian and international companies from various industries, the directions of transformation of management activities in the digital economy are identified. Among them should be highlighted: the transition from intuitive and retrospective decision-making models based on limited information and subjective assessments to data-oriented and predictive approaches that allow not only to explain the causes of past events, but also to build reliable forecasts of future trends, identify hidden dependencies and anticipate risks.; a fundamental change in the roles, functions and competencies of participants in the management process, who now need to have skills working with big data, understand the principles of machine learning and be able to interpret complex analytical models; as well as the emergence of new prescriptive analytics tools that go beyond simple forecasting and form specific recommendations for optimal actions, taking into account a variety of constraints, targets and scenario conditions, which makes it possible to make decisions not in conditions of uncertainty, but on the basis of scientifically based calculations. The paper presents a systematic analysis of the barriers preventing the effective implementation of big data analytics in Russian organizations. These barriers are classified into three main groups: organizational and cultural, technological and infrastructural, and regulatory and legal.
